This is called the principle of sympathetic vibration. We may remember the example from music or physics classes when the teacher used two tuning forks to demonstrate sympathetic vibrations. In the Physioacoustic treatment the sympathetic vibration is produced dozens of times during a therapy session. It seems that this type of interval treatment is even more effective than continuous stimulation. If the sound is continuous, the muscles may get tired and numb after a few minutes. When stimulation and rest periods follow each other, the relaxation is more effective. Power pulsation In the PA-method power pulsation is also used to prevent over stimulation. Continuous stimulation commonly causes numbness and contraction. Power pulsation means that within a fixed time sequence the volume of low frequency sound varies in a linear way to obtain a better muscle relaxation. At the beginning the systolic blood pressure was over 200 and diastolic over 140. With medication the pressure was lowered to the level 180/120. The patient started daily treatments of with Physioacoustic therapy. General relaxation program (twenty minutes) was applied. After six months the systolic pressure was 120 and diastolic 85. The blood pressure (systolic and diastolic) seems to remain on this level even when the medication has been reduced to quarter of the original dose. Case 3 A patient suffering from severe asthmatic symptoms wanted to try the Physioacoustic therapy for her neck and shoulder tensions. Soon she noticed that the asthmatic attacks were also relieved. The treatment helped even in more serious attacks, which usually had hospitalised her for several days. Case 5 Case 5 was an 11 -year-old girl suffering from a rare genetic brain disease (Calcificatio intracerebralis familians idiopathica), which slowly destroys the brain. Patients usually die of this disease at the age of 11-12 years. She was already at the terminal stage and medical treatments had been discontinued. The estimated life span was some months. The physical condition was poor. Blood circulation and digestion did not function properly. The mobility was very much reduced. The whole body was very spastic. For the second half of the session (15 minutes) program 4 was used, thighs and legs increased to 9 and strength to 7-8. In the gravitational traction the angle was increase slowly to 90 degrees. The patient received six treatments and was able to compete in Albertville. Competition results for the athlete fell in the semi-finals and he was not able to ski in the finals. It also appeared that the muscle was further damaged during the competition and muscle had to be operated on afterwards in Finland. Case 7 A 29 years old ice hockey player was preparing for the winter Olympics and the Finnish league finals. The problem was very stiff and sore muscles in shoulders. The Physioacoustic treatment started. The range of frequency 88-104-133 was applied. (Using the professional model) Pulsation was fast 12 - 25 and action was changed 0-1-2-0. The second half of the session (15 minutes) was program 2, neck-back 9, strength 7-8. Every second time program 1 was used instead of program 2. The gravitational traction 30-90 degrees were applied every time for 5-10 minutes. The patient received treatments. The muscle problem was eased and the player did fairly well in the winter Olympics and in the finals of the Finnish league. His team won the bronze medals. Case 8 A 39 years old shopkeeper, who also was an instructor in ski boarding, had a severe lower back problem. After the first treatment he went to the Ski Centre to give some lessons. After this the pain increased so much that he hardly could move. Fifteen therapy sessions were scheduled. At the beginning the goal was to reduce the intolerable pain and the quite obvious nerve root inflammation. For this purpose low frequencies (0-27) were used with slow pulsation (cycles 199). When the pain was at a tolerable level, the treatment was concentrated on the relaxation of muscle cramps. The frequencies 88-104 was used for this purpose, the pulsation at the first half of the session was fast (15-35) and the strength in the symptomatic area was 7-8. The frequency was changed after every three minutes (88-94-104-88). After the PA-treatment the patient received gravitational traction 5 minutes in 30 degree's angle and 5 minutes in 90 degree's angle. The patient came to therapy three times a week, 15 treatments altogether. The back pain started to decrease after the first treatment. It was totally gone after five treatments. The patient wanted to use all fifteen sessions. Case 9 A 45 years old marketing manager suffers from hypertension. Intensified 1 and 4 (Model Sx) (BP1 and BP2, Pro) were used two - three times a week. Strength 6-7, legs 9 and thighs 9. Diastolic blood pressure dropped down from 105Hgmm to 85Hgmm and Systolic from 189Hgmm to 135Hgmm. It kept down for days after 20 times of treatments without medication. Case 10 A 65 years old female was suffering with hypertension.
